about

This instrumental arrangement of a song my wife and I wrote (titled 'Fighting the Odds') was recorded playing my Telecaster w G/B-bender & reverb into a Fender AcoustiSonic amplifier on 11/4/2022 late last evening.
About 40 years ago, Christine wrote a poem in one of her journals. After we married in 1998, I was reading her poems and said I liked this one, "can I set it to music?" It became a regular part of the Cat's Pants band setlist for a while, then reemerged 2 years ago in Bo Clevis rehearsals. A "keeper". While Tina had a certain person in mind when writing the poem, I immediately found what it has to say to be a universally helpful point we can make to them, when someone we love is at the very end of their own rope.
Last night, I let this play softly on a loop indoors for a few hours like 'furniture music' (Satie)...inaudible from where we were sitting on the porch, but present for a bit when we went in for something. Tina walked out with tears in her eyes after hearing it.
